outgrowing the co-sleeper
I have my 6 month dd in a cosleeper until I come to bed. Then she sleeps next to the wall. I sleep in between her and her 3 year old sister.
The baby's time in the cosleeper is limited. I think when she starts crawling, she won't be able to sleep in it anymore. I ex;pect her to crawl at about7-9 months.
My question is will it be safe for her to share the bed without me and with her sister? Her sister is sometimes a restless sleeper and flails around at times. I've thougt about putting a pillow or blanket as a barrier in between them until I come to bed. The problem with that is I am worried that the baby will somehow get her face against it and not be able to breathe.
Anybody have any suggestions or btdt advice? TIA!

Hi, I haven't had to face your situation yet but will... we're expecting #2 in April. I wouldn't put the baby to sleep in family bed with our 2yo DS before DH and/or I came to bed. DS just moves around too much. For us, DS has a big-boy bed and he will go to sleep there, then he comes to bed with us later in the night. So, I think before the grownups go to bed, DS will sleep in his own bed and baby will sleep in family bed (after she outgrows the co-sleeper). We actually have a crib that we barely used with DS that we could use in some way if this situation doesn't work. With DS, we literally used the crib only as a place to plop DS safely when we had to use the bathroom or something like that, and I'm guessing we'll use it the same way. He never slept in it. But we know we have this potential additional sleeping space if we need to use it. I'm looking forward to seeing others' replies here! Good luck. Marian
