How long? & switching breasts..
Questions...
Do I just let the baby nurse until she decides she is done? That's what I've been doing and I figure thats right but wanted to ask. One time she nursed for an hour and a half.. usually she only nurses 20- 1 hr though. My mom tried to tell me her nursing a hour and a half will make me sore. Well it didn't and I figured the baby knew what she was doing? I was giving off milk the entire time and while she did "stop" here and there it wasnt for very long.
Also, do I HAVE to switch breasts each nursing session, or can I do the left boob now, and then next feeding do the right? I know about hind milk, and I'm not sure if this would allow her to get it or not?? She is a huge eater though and spends alot of time at the boob..

You are right on with letting her nurse till she decides to stop. You dont need to switch sides during one feeding. Actually if you do block feeding meaning you nurse one side 2 or more times in a row they get more of the fatty hind milk.

Let her nurse as long and often as she wants.
We always did one side feedings.

agreed! 1 side is enough for one feeding, lots of hindmilk will be produced.

no you don't need to feed from both sides, unless baby wants both sides that is, more often than not i would just feed from one side and then feed from the next side at the next feeding, although if they were haveing a growth spurt i found that they would have a good feed on one side and then want the other side.
i'd think if your baby is content with just the one side then she is obviosly getting what she need there
