increasing production on one side?
i didn't want to hi-jack a thread which was about nursing on one boob, so i started a new one with a quote from that thread and Q about increasing production on one side:
Ok I have to ask how BF one only one side has changed the symetry of your breasts. I am currently having what I call lop-sided production and am trying to increase milk supply on my right side because I don't want my breasts to be lop-sided when I am done BF, at least not more than I can prevent. So honestly, how lop-sided if at all can you get. I'm a DDD30, or DD32 if that helps.TIA so, chronic chrissy and anyone else reading this, what are you doing to increase on the one side? recently, my right side decreased production. i have to be careful, though, because before this happened i had a few months of overproduction and lots of plugged ducts and mastitis due to overproduction. i have been block-feeding for just over a month, which really helped slow the girls down, but now righty has slowed a bit too much. thanks in advance for the suggesstions!

I'm having a similar supply problem. My milk on my left breast seems to be here today and gone tomorrow. No sure what's going on...I've started pumping that side but I think I need larger flanges or whatever they are called that go on the breast. I'm not even getting a quarter of an ounce out in a single pumping of about 25 minutes. I know pumps aren't as good as babies for emptying the breast, but seems like I should get more than this if I weren't having supply problems. So, I am going by the lactation office tomorrow and see if I can get larger flanges for my pump.
Anyway, I'd be interested in the responses you get.
