Supply Issues with 20 month old
Hi All. I don't usually post in this forum, but am having supply issues with my 20 mo. She usually nurses in the morning and at night before bed and at least one other time during the day. My supply has dropped dramatically the past 3-4 months. Lately, when she is nursing, she keeps saying "more" when there is no more milk. She gets very frustrated and cries, I offer a bottle of water/juice, but she doesn't want it. She won't continue to nurse on the empty breast, so my supply isn't increasing. I tried pumping to stimulate my supply, but my dd screams crying when she sees me using the pump. She's not napping, and I have 2 older children, so I'm pretty busy. I eat well and get plenty of water. I don't really know how to increase my supply.
Do any of you knowledgable women have suggestions?
^_^:
Have you tried nursing her more often? Frequent nursing sessions can help build supply.

Are you pregnant?
Have you tried oatmeal? At least a bowl a day. It helps many women.
good luck!

Thank you so much for your replies. I was just in tears about this yesterday. It was breaking my heart to have my little one just screaming for more. :(
I cleared my schedule for the day and have been nursing her when she asks, but I'm going to offer every 15 mins.
I also forgot about the oatmeal, so I am off to have a bowl for brunch. :lol
Oh, and definitely not pregnant. :yikes:
