Favorite Sling to wear heavy toddler?

Mummas, I ask your advice, share your experience with slings and heavier toddlers who you carry in them. What kind of sling is best and why do you like it?
Thank you so much!

Jennifer

I have found overall I really prefer an unpadded sling. Even though my little one is getting up there in size ( he is 15 months and 20 lbs) it is still the most comfortable.
I make my own,,but the Maya Wrap is really the same thing. (PM me if you want more info on that!)
I first started trying unpadded this summer when the padding just added to how hot I was,,and I was so tired of the bulk. But I kept with it as fall hit, because I like that it is more versatile, I can sinch it up tighter, it stores in a tiny place,,so on.
The other day I was in a hurry and just threw on one of my older slings with padding to keep him happy while I finished dinner, and hated it immediately!
Some people feel as if the unpadded sling is not as comfortable, and that it cuts into your shoulder..but if you start to feel uncomfortable just fan the fabric out more instead of allowing it to bunch up on your shoulder,,and it is just fine. It is just a relief to wear the baby without feeling like a football player with all the padding!!

(unpadded) sling I got from I don't use it as much as I once did, but DD almost never wants to ride in her stroller nowadays and when it is cold she sometimes won't walk too far, either.
Since I work full time outside of the home and I'm a sucker, I usually end up carrying her, anyway. Some days the sling helps a lot and it makes it easier to carry her and other times she "fights" the sling and I end up carrying her without it.
She's a big baby, but I'm a strong mama! :hippie

I have used rebozo slings, a South American cloth that you use by tying knots. No padding. One of mine that I use a lot just got a big tear in it and I need to replace it, but I wanted to try something different if different might be better?

I use the Over the Shoulder Baby Holder. My DD is 2 1/2 years old and weighs about 30 pounds. She loves for me to carry her in it still and I can do so comfortably for a nice long walk or to vaccuum the whole house, etc. Good luck.
