Improving digestion

I always feel blocked, with a slow sluggish digestion (constipation and no regular BMs), and I’m looking for ways to improve it because I feel horrible today (and all week)
Things I do already:
Drink close to 100oz water a day
Eat at least one serving of fermented foods
Fresh, raw veggies at every meal
2-3 servings of fruit a day
No dairy (except for 1 tbs butter/day)
Good fats
What I could be missing: more fiber. I started taking barley grass tablets hoping that would help…
Any ideas?

^_^:
Have you ever tried water kefir or kombucha? Both work really well (sometimes too well :lol).

Kim I drink about 16 oz of kombucha *almost* every day. Should I drink more now that my body is used to it?

I drink about 16 oz of kombucha *almost* every day. Should I drink more now that my body is used to it? Good question! I don't know. How long has this been going on? I've read that B-vitamins, zinc and magnesium can all help with this issue. Not having enough stomach acid can aggravate the issue as well - do you take antacids for any reason? A friend of mine uses a psyllium and tea tonic from the health food store. I've never tried it though but it might be worth a shot.

Lets see. I would say for about 5 days now.
Then again, I've been under a lot of stress: sudden and unexpected death of a cousin (33), stress with my health, infertility and the possibility of not conceiving, travel (for business). I've been eating less for the past few days and trying to take it slow.
I dont take OTC anything at all (besides supplements) so anti-acids are out. I will try some tummy tea tonic like you mentioned...

Probiotics works for me!

Travel always throws me off. Have you tried going for a walk or doing other exercise?

Travel always throws me off. Have you tried going for a walk or doing other exercise? I run about 30 minutes to an hour 3-4 days a week and weights or yoga on the days I dont run.
I do take probiotics too...maybe I need to look at what I take closely.

^_^:
I was also under a lot of stress recently, to the point that I was getting twitching in my face and other muscles, and my heart would pound and/or beat irregularly when I would go to sleep at night. I started taking magnesium, and it helped these symptoms. It's also good for constipation, so maybe you could also take some extra supplements in addition to any nutritional changes you make.
I just read about a good way to take flax: put a tablespoon in a glass of water, and let it sit overnight. The next morning, blend it up and drink it.

^_^:
Sorry to hear about your cousin and the added stress. Maybe try oatmeal or creamy wheat for breakfast to add some fiber. Dried fruit like prunes would be another thing you could try. Ginger and mint help my tummy feel better when it is off and are nice digestive aids. I like them in teas or cooked into foods like curry or cookies.

^_^:
Try massaging your stomach/intestines deeply in a circular motion. Ditto magnesium, and ground flax. Also lemon/salt water.
