daycare discipline policy

As part of the packet we have to put together for opening our daycare, we have to have a discipline policy. Suggestions? Obviously, no hitting, yelling, name calling, demeaning, embarassment, etc. I just don't know how to say it in "big people" words. :O

^_^:
I recently saw a daycare discipline policy that impressed me:
Our approach to discipline:
NOTE: Discipline techniques are only used when developmentally appropriate.
- concentrate on positive reinforcement (praise) for appropriate behaviors
- discuss examples for acceptable and unacceptable behaviors
- encourage children to remind each other of appropriate behaviors
- model good behaviors
- verbal abuse, physical punishment, isolating a child out of sight, forcing or withholding naps or punishing toileting accidents is never tolerated. (It's from the Friends School in Baltimore, which has a daycare for two- and three-year-olds called "Little Friends.")

^_^:
Ours said something about using re-direction with very young children and engaging in constructive dialog as children begin to acquire language comprhension.

^_^:
Mine says:
We believe in positive discipline for children rather than punishment. We will praise the children highly for good behavior, with verbal praise and extra privileges. This will help the child understand which behavior is good and which is bad.
Punishment that is humiliating or frightening to a child, such as hitting, spanking, shaking, or verbal abuse, withholding or forcing food or punishment for lapses in toilet training and other forms of physical punishment are prohibited. These forms of punishment will never be used, even at the request of the parent.

^_^:
ours is really similar to kathryn except it adds that "These forms of punishment will never be used, even at the request of the parent, nor will they be tolerated on the premises."

^_^:
the one i work at also have lines that say no corporal punishment, cribs and high chairs will not be used for punishment, and food can not be withheld as punishment
