What causes a short LP?

I know it is low progesterone, but I guess I want to know what causes a woman to have low progesterone. I can't find that anywhere. I know nursing can play a part, but are there any other reasons (i.e. diet, fibroid, menopause, etc)?

^_^:
Your thyroid can affect this too I think?? I think someone here told me that? And some say B6 can help.
Anyway, I have a short LP-7-10 days and my progesterone and prolactin levels are normal so we have no idea what's going on since I've had normal cycles for 20 yrs:confused:
My DD weaned at 2yrs in Sept so we are assuming that maybe that was it and just hoping this month is it:)
Sometimes, I think our bodies are just doing it's own thing and not letting us in on the secret-which of course, drives us mad!
Good luck
Ann
