reflux?
i think i have reflux. i am 31 weeks and on bedrest, and i constantly have to sit all the way up to relieve the pain in my throat. burning, acidy tasting pain. it often makes me throw up.
any solutions for this? i cant drink milk or other dairy-it makes me vomit instantly.
(i also am struggling with hyperemesis so vomiting is routine, and now its even more often with the reflux)
^_^:
Well you can make a baking soda mixture and an apple cider vinegar mixture but considering your vomiting issues I don't know if either is a good idea. My aunt has GERD and drinks ACV every day
Recipe:
2 Tablespoons of ACV in water, 3x a day. Take a stronger concoction (more vinegar, less water) directly after a heavy meal if you are treating acid reflux. She puts honey in it to help with the taste.
I don't know the baking soda amount my neice took it when she had ulcers.

Oh mama I am so sorry :( :grouphug
My solutions this this problem are generally milk-based which in your case, won't work.
Have you noticed if the reflux happens more severely after eating certain foods or does it seem to be random? It's probably hard to tell since your esophagus is probably very irritated.
During my first trimester when I had severe m/s I struggled with this too, though I was lucky and it went away. I was very surprised to discover that it there were certain foods that I absolutely should not eat and could not digest. Whole grain anything was at the top of that list. Anything but the whitest, most refined bread products caused me incredible discomfort and eventual vomiting. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on white bread was my only meal for several weeks. My husband would make them in quantity and have them in the fridge for me. He cut them into four squares and I would nibble one throughout the day. The combination of not throwing up and having something on my tummy helped significantly minimize the burning esophagus.
Broths are also really good for this and arn't inconvenient to throw-up.
I sure hope someone has a solution that works for you. Hope you feel better soon.
Oh--Apples. Sliced apples with peanut butter and (for me) thin slices of cheddar cheese felt good to eat.

I started taking Zantac after trying almost everything else. It is the only thing that has drastically improved things for me. My heartburn was constant and made me miserable. I love Zantac :)
