Shopping for nursing bras (rant)
I am so steamed it's unreal....I could just:cuss :bang :hopmad . Target is discontinuing the sale of nursing bras. They are all on clearance, and that's great of I wore a 42 DDD...because that is all that is left. Walmart, though I've seen adverts in magazines for nursing bras, doesn't carry them. Motherhood has aweful nursing bras, and what they DO have has underwires. Sears had about 6 bras to choose from, all with underwires.
Where the heck do I find nursing bras, not online, that I won't pay an arm and a leg for???
I swear the formula companies have ruined the nursing bra market...it's a damn consipracy!!!
^_^:
have you thought about altering regular bras?
good luck and i feel your pain. the only nursing bras i have been remotely satisfied with were bravado that i ordered online. they are very comfy but don't create the most flattering sillhouette ~ good for at home.
^_^:
JC Penny sells them out of the catalogue and they have a style that is supportive for over C cups without underwire for about $20.If you can spend $50 check out stores that specialize in wedding lingerie. There is one in Old Town San Diego and she really knew how to fit me way better than Macy's or Vicky's.If you are small enough you can get away with a strecthy regular bra or get a demi bra and lift out.Good luck!
^_^:
I actually found the bras I wore last time, online. I loved the Playtex nursing bras...but I CAN NOT find them in stores anymore. I can wear my old nursing bras now...but once I start nursing, my boobs will bust right out of these! I need a bigger cup....so I found them online for much cheaper than I paid when I first bought them. :jammin

That's a neat link...very clever! I just can't bring myself to cut up my Ipex (Victroria Secrets) bras:o I'll need them when I'm done nursing anyhow.
^_^:
check out ebay...search for "yes nursing bra"
i've heard great things about them (the bands don't roll, very comfortable, no wire).
^_^:
I don't know as I have always done without nursing bras. But, if you are going to buy them, I have always heard you should wait to buy after baby is born as your breasts will change then. Yet, I guess you might want to have one or two for right away?
^_^:
Target has a new line of nursing bras - I think Gillian Anderson. I don't like them as much as the old ones, but they are still cheap and they have non-underwire.
^_^:
I can't believe your walmart doesn't have nursing bras. Did you ask a clerk? They can be difficult to find. In fact I think our new store actually keeps them in the baby department.
You can try JcPenney. They carry some in their larger stores and better ones in the maternity catalog.
yesbreastfeeding.com they are like the regular Bravado but a little better
motherwear.com has some nice looking ones.
Check out local small baby stores. Ours carries Medela bras.
breakoutbras.com has some
biggerbras.com carries higher end bras such as Anita
Good Luck

That's a neat link...very clever! I just can't bring myself to cut up my Ipex (Victroria Secrets) bras:o I'll need them when I'm done nursing anyhow. I couldn't cut up my body by victoria so I waited until my milk came in and bought them on ebay (went to vicky's and got fitted first) and then cut those up....I got 3 for $40 shipped..NEW....

I swear the formula companies have ruined the nursing bra market...it's a damn consipracy!!! Have you looked at Macy's or Nordstrom? They usually have great bras. I have always liked my bras from Motherhood so I don't know how to help with that. I am an *I* when full lactation though so I have no choice but to pay a fortune for a bra online.

Good Luck I did ask, and they said they don't carry them. I was going to try JC Penny next...but I found the bras I already use (for nursing) online. I know my sizing, so I can just order them. Any other brand of bra, I REALLY want to be able to try on. I don't fit bras very well. I am going to our HUGE mall today (South Coast Plaza) and I'm going to see what I can find at Nordy's and Mimi Maternity. We also have a Pea in the Pod...perhaps they have decent bras. I just don't want to pay a fortune for nursing bras!
^_^:
Our Babies R Us carries nursing bras, but I haven't tried them.
^_^:
What about this for a Jane's top? I've heard they are wonderful but I have another 2 months before I find out for myself.
^_^:
Your Motherhood only has underwires? Ours has a ton of styles without underwires. I'd check their website.
^_^:
Are you sure they are discontinuing them at all stores? I was just there today and they actually had a new set up... used to they only sold the ones in the little boxes but now they had an entire display with different nursing bras on hangers and ad pictures above them, this was new for our store (I'm in Tx) and I thought maybe they were actually trying harder to market their nursing bras... maybe if you looked at a different store?
^_^:
My Target is still selling nursing bras, but in a different part of the bra department and packaged differently (on hangers, not in a box). Check and see!
^_^:
WalMart really does sell them. They are just usually in their own little hidden aisle/end cap type deal. I can't remember the brand name but they are in plastic packaging and have green cardboard. I had to stop asking the employees where they were and had to track them down myself. There are a couple styles both underwire and not. Good luck!
^_^:
The Target nearest me also has a new set up and the older ones are going on clearence for about $8.
