Where should I start?
My daughter just turned one. Throughout my pregnancy, and this past year, I have been trying to get DH on board with the GD.
Last night he tentatively agreed.
Where do I start? as a newby to GD (I was raised in an extremely emotionally, and physically abusive home) what would be the best books/websites/resources to start with?
I want to raise this beautiful little girl the right way. (and all her future brothers and sisters!)
Throw the info at me please!!
^_^:
I'll tell you, my very very very favorite book for that age is Becoming the Parent You Want To Be.
Without the advice in that book, the years from 1-3 would have been MUCH harder on me!!
Other books that really helped me solidify my ideals were Loving Your Child is not Enough, Natural Child:Parenting from the Heart, and Unconditional Parenting.
Secret of Parenting came in handy when ds was a bit older, and I was having trouble keeping calm and doing the right thing in response to difficult behaviors.
There are articles at both these sites:
(my favorite parenting website, other than mdc of course)
More Topical:
